Next week, May 19 -20, BMO Capital Markets’ will host our Farm to Market Conference, virtual for a second year in a row. Since our last conference, we have started to see the resounding and lasting impact COVID-19 will have on businesses across the food chain, from fertilizer, ag chemicals and agribusiness, to food and beverage, cannabis, supply chain logistics, grocery retail and restaurants.
We will host executives from more than 90 companies, global institutional investors and financial sponsors; leading BMO analysts will moderate panels including what is top of mind for the industry: how the world will eat in a post COVID-19 world and more traditional pressures like higher commodity prices and the impact on inflation.
Aligning BMO’s focus in ESG and helping our clients transition to a net-zero world, we will talk about the trends around sustainable investing in the space, including ESG across the food chain, and how fertilizer and crop chemical producers are exploring advancements to lower carbon use in farming and creating more sustainable crop inputs.
As companies across the industry continue to weather the volatility of the pandemic, I am reminded of the importance of this conference as a forum for discussion about what the recovery should and will look like.
