Equity Research Analyst, Fertilizers and Chemicals
Joel is a senior analyst in BMO Capital Markets Equity Research, covering the chemicals and fertilizer/ag sectors. Joel joined BMO in 2006, and has been a publishing analyst since 2008 with differentiated views on the global fertilizer/ag vertical, and also has unique views on a number of commodities including lithium. In the 2017, 2018 and 2019 Brendan Wood International Survey, Joel ranked first in agriculture, chemicals and fertilizers, and has ranked in the top three in the survey consecutively for many years. Joel has also been recognized by Institutional Investor in its rankings in the U.S. chemicals sector for a number of years, and has won multiple StarMine awards for his accuracy of earnings estimates. Joel’s earlier experience includes more than five years as a design engineer at Nortel Networks. Joel holds a B.Sc. (electrical engineering) from Queen’s University and an MBA from York University, and is also a CFA charterholder. He is a professional engineer licensed by Professional Engineers Ontario.
