Alan Tannenbaum

Head, Global Investment & Corporate Banking
Alan Tannenbaum was appointed Head, Global Investment & Corporate Banking (I&CB) in January of 2021. Mr. Tannenbaum is responsible for all of BMO’s I&CB activities with corporate, government and financial sponsor clients worldwide, including equity and debt underwriting, leveraged finance, corporate lending and project financing, mergers and acquisitions advisory services and global trade and banking. He is a member of the BMO Capital Markets Operating and Executive Committee.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Tannenbaum spent three years as Head of the Global Corporate Finance Solutions group in Investment and Corporate Banking with responsibility for all capital raising activities and associated risk across equity and fixed income. He managed the teams in Equity Capital Markets, Leveraged Finance, Debt Capital Markets and the Financial Sponsors Group.
Before moving to I&CB in 2017, Mr. Tannenbaum was Co-Head of Global Equity Products with responsibility for overseeing all of BMO’s equity research, equity sales and trading, as well as the various equity finance businesses.
He joined BMO Capital Markets in early 2010 and has more than 25 years of experience on Wall Street, 13 years of which were at Lehman Brothers Inc. Mr. Tannenbaum’s roles at Lehman Brothers included Head of European Equity Capital Markets, based in London, and Head of U.S. Institutional Sales, based in New York.
Mr. Tannenbaum is a graduate of the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature, high honors.
